Blue Wedding Flowers

The color blue conveys the tranquility of a pristine ocean, the uplifting spirit of a sun-filled sky or the confidence of a blue-ribbon victory. With symbolism ranging from faithfulness and loyalty to intelligence and peace, blue flowers add a cool and calm beauty to any floral arrangement. In many diverse cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away.

Blue is a rare color in a garden and therefore a rare color in a florist’s cooler. If, however, you do need a few suggestions for some blue flowers that are available here for you to choose from, here is a brief list… Aganpanthus, Bachelor buttons, Delphinium, Hydrangea, Eucalyptus, Iris, Monkshood, Nigella, Statice, Forget-Me-Nots, Violets. These flowers are all natural shades of blue. My recommendation, when it comes to blue wedding flowers, is to go natural. You can never go wrong when you choose something Mother Nature has created.

A deep royal blue or azure conveys richness and perhaps even a touch of superiority. Navy blue is almost black and is a bit warmer than lighter blues. Combine a light and dark blue flowers to convey trust and truthfulness. Although blue is a year-round color, pastel blues, especially along with pinks and pale yellows suggest Springtime while deep blue is a colder weather color. Create a conservative but sophisticated look in your flower arrangements with subtle contrast by combining light and dark shades of blue.

Yellow flowers can lighten blue ones, especially if you are going with the darker shades of blue like indigo or navy. Using the same flower like Iris in both blue and yellow would both unify and decorate your reception area. Also, picking up some yellow will allow you to use gold toned accents more easily. This could be helpful if your dress is more of an ivory shade, you want gold candle holders, or if silver just isn’t your thing.

Order a stunning floral arrangement of light blue iris flowers mixed with bright yellow roses to lift your spirits! Brighten up the day of family, friends and loved ones that attend your wedding. Order a magnificent floral arrangement of blue hydrangeas or iris flowers mixed with Asiatic lilies. The gorgeous blue iris is a showy flower. Place this beautiful floral arrangement on a table or credenza, and they’ll show off your good taste, too.

The pale blue hues of a hydrangea or the deep blues of an iris can calm worries and preoccupation representing openness, and serenity, fresh floral arrangements filled with blue flowers offers a cooling antidote to anxiousness

Purple will bring a sense of richness to the cooler shades of blue and can add some warmth. Think about using silver accents, like vases, ribbon, or foil, to enrich your blue colored flowers. Lupine and Delphinium, with their dainty flowers, will really shine arranged with a background of trailing ivy, ferns, or the leaves of your flower choice. Consider adding some white or black to unify things for your larger arrangements of blue wedding flowers. Cream colors, like ivory or sand, will tone down some of the brighter shades for a more delicate look.
